Hoarder’s World is a junk/antique shop in Milwaukee’s trendy Third Ward. It was already a place I knew about and visited when nearby, but the Milwaukee Journal/Sentinel featured it this past Friday (click on “Hoarder’s World” to read the article). After visiting the Milwaukee Public Museum with my youngest, I asked where he would like to go next. “The junk shop!”
This head on a table greets third floor visitors.
The Kneeling Woman Torso End Table was seen in the J/S article so I was delighted to see the ugly thing in person. Would look wonderful in my son’s dorm room. Below is a shot of the top, which also looks like it would really go with college dorm room decor.
There is a lot of junk, of course, but every once and while you see these large paintings tucked in along walls. They aren’t bad either, if not quite mainstream. I don’t understand the comment on the one below. Maybe a note to the artist to remember what color he was going to finish up the background with?
In another third floor corner . . .
This large painting has been in a room on the second floor for a long time and I LOVE it. I’ve never inquired after a price because I’m sure if it’s even for sale I can’t afford it. I just keep taking pictures of it whenever I see it.
Shot glasses for sale in a window.
Hoarder’s World is located in an old warehouse-y building with lots of interesting twists and turns and odd passageways accessed by industrial looking doors in the middle of walls that make you want to explore. Here’s a couple shots of one of those intriquing doors.
Stairway from first to second floors.
Long view of the second floor, which gives you a better idea of the general crazy, fun layout.
what a fun place! 😉
A few of those lonely plastic people too. Or parts of them. 😉
